Stop the Keystone Pipeline

On November 6, 2011, the Sierra Club is sponsoring a protest at the White House  to pressure President Obama to stop the Keystone XL Pipeline from going forward. If you have not yet learned about why this pipeline is a terrible idea for America, please educate yourself today. Watch this video and then go to the Sierra Club’s informational web site http://www.sierraclub.org/dirtyfuels/tar-sands/and read more about what is already happening to Canada’s aboriginal peoples as a result of their ongoing exposure to this extremely toxic fuel. Look at  the pictures taken from space that clearly show the rivers and lakes of toxic chemicals formed by tar sands exploration. Then read the stories of the real Americans whose land, health and livlihood are directly threatened by this dreadfully misguided effort to maintain our nation’s dependence on dirty oil at a time when we should be doing everything in our power to explore alternative energy sources for the future.

Our apathy has allowed Big Oil  to take over our government;  let’s not let them take our country, too.
